Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic agrees summer move to AC Milan

The 24-year-old United States captain spent four seasons at Stamford Bridge but managed just 26 goals while failing to truly nail down his place as a vital piece of the puzzle for the Blues under multiple managers.

As the face of football in the United States, Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic has long been under the microscope since his breakthrough into the senior setup at Borussia Dortmund before his high-profile move to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2019.

But despite being viewed as a potential wunderkind, Pulisic truly failed to kick on in the Premier League and could be in line for a summer move to AC Milan to join a growing number of American players that may well arrive in Lombardy.

Reports from ESPN’s Jeff Carlisle suggest that the Pennsylvania native has already agreed to terms with the Serie A giants over a move that would see him sign on to a long-term deal at the San Siro in a bid to rediscover his form on the pitch after failing to become a key asset in west London.

Pulisic, who has just one year left on his current term sheet with the English giants, could become the ninth player to depart from Chelsea this summer, following in the wake left by Kai Havertz, Mateo Kovačić, Kalidou Koulibaly, Édouard Mendy, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, N’Golo Kanté, Tiemoué Bakayoko, and the pending departure of César Azpilicueta.

Should terms be agreed between Chelsea and Milan, it would be the second time this summer that the 19-time Scudetto winners exchanged money with the Blues over one of the periphery members of the first-team as the club look to retool under new manager Mauricio Pochettino while also doing its utmost to avoid possible FFP sanctions moving forward.

Pulisic may not be the only American to arrive at the club this summer, either, after Milan remains linked with considerable interest in both Yunus Musah and Folarin Balogun, with a USMNT trio at one of the biggest clubs in Europe benefitting the national team in a big way should moves for all three materialize in the current window.
