According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, RB Leipzig midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has caught the attention of the Premier League club with his performances this season and he has 5 goals and 13 assists across all competitions.
The report adds that Chelsea are currently in advanced negotiations to sign the player and the two parties are close to agreeing on a deal.
The midfielder has a contract with the German club until the summer of 2026 and he has a market value of around €35 million according to transfermarket.
Szoboszlai has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League. Before he made the switch to Leipzig, the then RB Salzburg star was heavily tipped for a move to Chelsea’s London rivals, Arsenal.
Should Szoboszlai indeed make the move to England, it would all but confirm that Mason Mount’s future is away from Stamford Bridge.
Mount is already out of favour under Graham Potter and if Szoboszlai and Christopher Nkunku both arrive at the Bridge this summer, there will be no place for Mount.
