It’s yet another London derby in the Premier League as Chelsea meet with West Ham United at Stamford Bridge with the two London outfits aiming to jump right into the top eight this season with some negative results so far.
Chelsea have been about as topsy-turvy as it gets this campaign and Thomas Tuchel sits with many questions above his head after a defeat from Southampton during the week in a 2-1 loss. Raheem Sterling did manage to score again that day, as he netted the opener. However, they fell apart in the first half in the end.
Tuchel’s side are now coming into this one with just two wins this season after defeating Everton and Leicester City by narrow one-goal margins. What’s more, they are seriously struggling to find an out-and-out goalscorer this season, with all goalscoring attention falling on the shoulders of Sterling after his two goals against Leicester and goal against the Saints.
West Ham, however, have finally got a win after beating Aston Villa away from home last weekend. They did also get a commendable points against Tottenham Hotspur in midweek, as Tomas Soucek netted in the second half after Thilo Kehrer’s own goal.
This does still leave David Moyes’ men down in 14th and with barely anything to shout about this season other than a two-legged victory against Viborg in the Europa Conference League qualifiers by a 6-1 aggregate scoreline.
West Ham can’t seem to find any sort of consistency, and with the second London derby in a week, they will struggle to get all three points against a Chelsea side desperate to get back in the win column.
