The man in question is Leeds United and USA international, Tyler Adams.
Adams made 24 Premier League appearances last season and impressed in several games despite the Whites’ poor campaign.
However, Leeds were still relegated from the Premier League and will now spend 2023/24 plying their trade in the Championship.
Leeds’ relegation is seemingly good news for Chelsea, however.
According to a report from Daily Mail, Adams has a release clause in his contract and Chelsea could look to trigger it in the coming weeks.
The American international is said to be available for a fee of just £20 million in the event of relegation and Chelsea will look to take advantage of the option and sign him.
However, the Blues are in desperate need of fresh legs in midfield after N’Golo Kante, Matteo Kovacic, Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all left the club over the summer.
Will Adams be the man to help fill that void?
