The Blues spent over £600m this season, including more than £300m in January, on the likes of Enzo Fernandez for a British transfer record of £106.8m.
However, despite all the new signings, it was reported last month that Todd Boehly and Clearlake are ready to sanction another spending spree for next season, with a new goalkeeper and striker high on the agenda. They could also target a midfielder and another central defender.
To fund this spree, though, a number of players are going to have to leave the club.
And now, it has been reported that Chelsea can make over £260m in player sales this summer.
According to The Athletic, there will be a mass clear-out at Stamford Bridge and Ben Chilwell could be one of the first out of the door.
It’s understood Manchester City are showing ‘genuine’ interest in the England star, with Pep Guardiola in need of a left-back.
Elsewhere, Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Armando Broja and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have all fallen out of favour with Potter and will likely head for the exit. There is also Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan with Inter Milan, the striker is not part of the Chelsea boss’ plans and could raise a significant amount of cash. Chelsea hope to raise around £264m in transfers from said sales.
