Arsenal star Marquinhos etched his name into the history books of the club on Thursday night, owing to his exploits during the club’s latest outing.

Mikel Arteta’s troops, of course, were back in action a little over 24 hours ago.

Fresh off a first defeat of the campaign at the hands of Manchester United last time out, the Gunners kicked their European endeavours for the season into gear, eyeing a bounce-back result in Switzerland up against FC Zurich.

And, when all was said and done, return to winning ways is precisely what the evening’s visitors managed.

Strikes on the part of attacking pair Marquinhos and Eddie Nketiah ultimately proved enough to guide Arsenal to the right side of a 2-1 scoreline, to take an early place atop the Europa League Group A standings.

And, as alluded to above, in the process of finding the net on Thursday, the former of this pair secured for himself a noteworthy piece of history.
