Firstly, Chelsea are looking to bolster their defensive options, and they are eyeing Bayer Leverkusen and Ecuador World Cup star defender Piero Hincapie as a possible Josko Gvardiol alternative, according to Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports News.
Hincapie, 20, signed for Bayer Leverkusen from Argentinan side Club Atletico Talleres at the start of the 21/22 season, and has a contract until 2026 at Leverkusen. Blues can wrap up the deal for the youngster for around €30m.
Elsewhere, according to Spanish outlet Marca, Chelsea are considering a January approach for Barcelona and French mercurial winger Ousmane Dembele. The Blues have been linked with the 25-year-old for a long while now and missed out on snapping him up as a free agent last summer.
However, he penned a new two-year deal with the Catalan club, extending his stay till 2024. The report adds that the Frenchman has a release clause of €50m, which will come into effect this summer.
Finally, Chelsea have reportedly closed the signing of RB Leipzig and French star, Christopher Nkunku, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano states that the deal is ‘100%’ closed and the player will join the London Blues in 2023.
