Arsenal Team News

  • Out: Eddie Nketiah, Mohamed Elneny
  • Doubt: William Saliba, Takehiro Tomiyasu

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will seek comfort in the ability to field his strongest possible XI every weekend from now until the end of the Premier League season after the Gunners were ousted from the round of 16 in the Europa League at the hands of Sporting CP.

Unfortunately, there remain some injury concerns for the Spanish tactician in the wake of the 5-4 shootout loss to Rúben Amorim’s men, with both William Saliba and Takehiro Tomiyasu subbed off injured last night at the Emirates. Neither is expected to feature on Sunday, with Tomiyasu spotted on crutches in the aftermath of the evening.

Back-up striker Eddie Nketiah will be out until after the international break while Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny will miss the bulk of the remainder of the campaign after going through knee surgery.
