Premier League leaders Arsenal are hoping that their recent blip on the radar screen was finally put to bed last weekend in their 4-2 comeback win over Aston Villa, and will look to re-establish their title credentials at the King Power Stadium against relegation-threatened Leicester City.

Still not at full strength but with fewer headaches on account of January business that presented Mikel Arteta with invaluable squad depth that he can tap into on all fronts for the remainder of the season, the Gunners showed the fighting spirit of champions last weekend and will hope to build on their fantastic second-half performance at Villa Park with a view of still setting the pace at the top of the table despite Manchester City breathing down their neck.

Predicted Arsenal XI

Arsenal Team News

  • Out: Gabriel Jesus, Mohamed Elneny
  • Doubt: Thomas Partey

Mikel Arteta remains without the services of key summer signing Gabriel Jesus despite the Brazilian international returning to training at London Colney. The away day at Leicester is one step too soon, but he is expected back in contention to feature come March, boosting the club’s chances of securing major honors in 2022-23.

Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny is also still laid up in dry dock in the wake of successful knee surgery, but the Gunners are at least happy that the veteran extended terms in north London as he will continue to provide valuable squad depth.

Lastly, Thomas Partey will face a late assessment in order to determine if he will be available on Saturday, at least from the bench. The Ghanaian missed both the loss against Manchester City as well as the result against Aston Villa, and should he not pass fit, faith will certainly be retained in Jorginho.
