Crystal Palace have, on Thursday, announced the free agent signing of a key member of the midfield setup at Premier League rivals Bournemouth.
The Cherries star primed to take his talents to Selhurst Park? Jefferson Lerma.
All-action midfielder Lerma is fresh off another fine campaign in Dorset, which saw him play a pivotal role in Bournemouth’s comfortable 15th-placed finish.
In fact, all told, the Colombian featured from the off in all but one of the club’s league fixtures.
In turn, it will no doubt come as a blow to all associated with Gary O’Neil’s side to hear of Lerma coming to the decision to take his talents to south London.
As confirmed by the aforementioned Palace a short time ago, though, this is precisely what the 28-year-old has opted to do.
‘Crystal Palace F.C. are delighted to announce that the club have agreed terms with midfielder Jefferson Lerma, who will join the squad from 1st July.’
Lerma has committed to a three-year deal at Selhurst Park, ahead of the expiration of his current Bournemouth terms at the end of the month.
Welcome to Palace, Jefferson Lerma 🤝
We’re delighted to announce the midfielder has agreed terms and will join us on 1st July ❤️💙
