Manchester City are back at the Etihad this Wednesday evening as they meet with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League for the first time since 1995 and the first time in all competitions since 2009.
Forest managed to win the last tie between the two 3-0 in an FA Cup victory at the Etihad. Things are now drastically different, however, with City priced at 1/14 to win the game with Bet365 and Forest all the way up at 28/1 to rack up all three points in Manchester.
This comes off the back of City’s excellent comeback win against Crystal Palace, where Erling Haaland scored his first Premier League hat-trick on just his fourth appearance in the competition. It now means the Norwegian is on six goals from four games, and Pep Guardiola has already alluded to the idea of backup striker, Julian Alvarez, playing here against Forest.
Steve Cooper’s side lost 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend, and despite giving Hugo Lloris a few things to deal with in the game, it was ultimately a fairly comfortable win for Spurs that day at the City Ground. Dean Henderson did save a penalty to deny a Harry Kane hat-trick, and it was star striker, Brennan Johnson, who came the closest to getting a goal for Forest.
City are likely going to win this game and do so quite comfortably. The only way Forest get something out of this one is if they manage to play out the perfect game.
