Incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has begun planning for the 2022 summer transfer window, according to reports.
Ten Hag will take over from Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford at the close of the 2021/22 season, and is facing a huge rebuilding job.
The former recently suggested that United need six to 10 new players and, though such a flurry of arrivals in one window seems unrealistic, it is obvious that the Red Devils need to improve in a number of areas.
One such area is at centre-back, where Harry Maguire has seriously struggled for form, Raphael Varane has become somewhat injury-prone, and Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly have continued to look sub-par back-up options.
As a result, now, as per journalist Ekrem Konur, Erik ten Hag has added Ajax and Argentina stopper Lisandro Martinez to his transfer shortlist:

Who is Lisandro Martinez?
Martinez is also left-footed, meaning United’s new boss would be able to partner the South American with one of right-footed pair Varane or Maguire.
And, of course, as he is already playing under ten Hag, Martinez should, in theory, not take long to adapt to Manchester United’s system under the Dutchman.
