Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery has, on Saturday evening, provided an update on the wellbeing of midfield star Philippe Coutinho.
For those not aware, Brazilian international Coutinho was forced to sit out this afternoon, as Villa marked their return to action in a meeting with Everton.
The Claret and Blue, for their part, ultimately emerged on the right side of a 2-0 scoreline, owing to goals on the part of Ollie Watkins and Emi Buendia.

Speaking ahead of kick-off at Goodison Park, though, the aforementioned Unai Emery revealed that Coutinho would play no part, after picking up a hamstring injury during the week.
And, on the back of proceedings being brought to a close on Saturday evening, Villa’s headmaster provided a further insight into the situation.
Unfortunately from a Villans perspective, the club’s gifted attacking midfielder, who marked his return to the scoresheet against Arsenal last week, is in line for an extended spell on the sidelines:
It could be April before we see Coutinho back in action. ‘[Philippe] is injured and it’s longer than one week. It’s a muscular injury. I think he’ll be out for one month, more or less. Yes, after the international break.’https://t.co/cckOHhGs0b#AVFC https://t.co/1PszkAjMH6
