Everton are primed to close an imminent deal for a member of the midfield ranks at Premier League rivals Manchester United, the details of which have come to the fore on on Wednesday evening.

The Red Devils star set to take his talents to Goodison Park over the coming 24 hours? James Garner.

Highly-regarded midfield starlet Garner is fresh off another impressive loan spell last time out, which saw him light up the Championship whilst on the books of Nottingham Forest.

And, evidently, such exploits did not go at all unnoticed back in the top-flight of English football.

Having come to the conclusion that the 21-year-old is not yet of the standard required to contribute on a weekly basis in Manchester, Erik ten Hag and those in a position of power at Old Trafford have therefore this week opted to take full advantage of the widespread interest in Garner’s signature.

As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, an agreement with Everton has been struck, which will see Garner line out on Merseyside from next season on.

Significantly, it is also confirmed that Man United have secured a buyback option as part of the deal, which could yet see their gifted academy product secure a return to Manchester at some point down the line.

Garner’s Everton contract will run through the summer of 2027.
