Premier League giants Chelsea have, on Saturday evening, confirmed yet another addition to the club’s first-team ranks.

The latest player to have put pen to paper on terms with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad? Djordje Petrovic.

The name of goalkeeper Petrovic, for those not aware, has long taken its place front and centre in the headlines at Stamford Bridge.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the 23-year-old – on the back of Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan exit – had been identified as Chelsea’s leading target to act as backup for new no.1 Robert Sanchez.

Negotiations with MLS outfit the New England Revolution, in turn, had long been kicked into gear.

And, as alluded to above, on Friday, such discussions have at long last borne fruit.

‘Chelsea has completed the signing of goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic from MLS side New England Revolution.’

Petrovic has penned a long-term contract in west London, signing through the summer of 2030, with the option for a further year.

He is understood to have set Chelsea back an initial £12.5 million, with the deal also including a potential £1.5 million in bonuses.
