Premier League outfit West Ham United have, on Friday, unveiled the latest addition to the club’s first-team ranks.

The player to have taken his talents to the London Stadium ahead of the 2022/23 campaign? Maxwel Cornet.

Wide-man Cornet, of course, had been hotly tipped to seal a move to England’s capital across the week to date.

This comes after the powers that be at West Ham turned their attentions towards the 25-year-old, after being left frustrated in their attempts to land first-choice target Filip Kostic from Europa League champions Eintracht Frankfurt.

Taking advantage of Burnley’s relegation to the Championship, the Hammers, in turn, set their sights firmly on Cornet, fresh off an impressive debut campaign in England’s top-tier.

And, as alluded to above, it has not taken the transfer team in east London at all long to strike gold.

Cornet has put pen to paper on a contract through the summer of 2027, featuring the option for a further year.

His signing, it is understood, set West Ham back a sum of £17.5 million, as per a release clause included in the former Lyon man’s Burnley contract upon his arrival 12 months ago.
