Ronaldo’s desire to leave Manchester this summer has been well documented. The Portuguese missed United’s entire international pre-season tour.
The 37-year-old was absent last Saturday when Manchester United lost to Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford. But he then returned to action for the first time on Sunday vs Ray Vallecano, but left the ground before the full-time whistle after being taken off at half-time.
Manchester United claimed afterwards that CR7 had permission to do so. However, Erik ten Hag has since come out and stated he was not happy with Ronaldo leaving early, suggesting permission was not actually given.
When asked about Ronaldo leaving Old Trafford early, the former Ajax boss said: “I certainly don’t condone this. This is unacceptable. For everyone. We are a team and you have to stay until the end.”
So, with Ronaldo still seemingly not on the same page as the club heading into the new season, talk of another suitor is not too surprising.
It is claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered a way out of Manchester United with Brazilian club Corinthians ‘keeping an eye on him.’
“Is it possible? I don’t know. We didn’t try, we didn’t investigate, there was no such possibility, but we are keeping an eye on him. Imagine that he suddenly wants to play in Brazil,” said Alves, speaking about potentially bringing Ronaldo to Brazil, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo.
Ronaldo is not likely to be happy with these links, though, as he wants to move to a club with Champions League football in order to stop Lionel Messi breaking his record.
