Bayern Munich are closing in on the mammoth sale of Sadio Mane in a move that could finally allow them to put together an acceptable offer for Harry Kane this summer.
The German giants are in the final stages of agreeing to sell Sadio Mane to Al-Nassr, as they look to bring a nightmare 12 months to a close for all parties.
The Senegalese star completed a £27m move to Bavaria just last summer, but despite a strong start to his time in Germany he faded out of favour when Thomas Tuchel took over, and was suspended briefly after an altercation with Leroy Sane in which he punched the German in the aftermath of a Champions League game against Manchester City.
Now, he is set to depart, with the ex-Liverpool forward due to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr in a deal that will see him paid around 40m euros per year (£36m).
Better still for Bayern, they are set to net a profit on Mane, who they are reportedly set to receive 40m euros for, £7m more than they shelled out to bring him to the Allianz.
The added funds could well be put towards Harry Kane, who is Bayern’s no.1 target and who they have already seen two bids turned down for this summer as Spurs hold out for £100m.
With Daniel Levy determined not to sell the Englishman to a Premier League rival, it seems as though a move to Bayern Munich may be Kane’s only exit strategy at this point, and the sale of Mane should help facilitate his departure.
