Ahead of the game, both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona were in fine form and Sunday’s result could have a major barring on who wins La Liga this season.

Barcelona’s form in Europe is not great, but they were sat top of La Liga with seven wins and one draw from eight matches.

Real Madrid also had seven wins and one draw, but they had a seven-worse goal difference.

This comes with Barcelona conceding just one goal in the league so far this season.

After the first 45, though, Real Madrid currently find themselves 2-0 up thanks to goals from Karim Benzema and Federico Valverde.

Barcelona dominated the possession 62 to 38 per cent, but La Blaugrana failed to make it count.
