Surprise speculation stemming from the media late on Friday night points towards an imminent addition to the defensive setup at Premier League giants Manchester United.
The player tipped to take his talents to Old Trafford? Santiago Arias.
For those not aware, right-back Arias is currently available as a free agent.
This comes after his contract with Spanish heavyweights Atletico Madrid was allowed to expire this past summer.
Arias has since come up short in efforts to find a new club, with the experienced Colombian international’s recent struggles for fitness a likely explanation as to why.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word emerging from the South American press late on Friday is anything to go by, then Arias could soon be plying his trade back in one of Europe’s top leagues.
Citing inside sources, Saenz goes as far as to suggest that Arias ‘has his bags ready’ for Old Trafford.

A contract through the summer of 2024, worth €3.5 million-per-season, is understood to be awaiting the 30-year-old in England’s northwest, with it currently unclear what Arias’ arrival would mean for the future of the out-of-favour Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
