Trevoh Chalobah is ready to leave Chelsea after the club agreed a £38.6million deal to sign Monaco defender Axel Disasi.
Thiago Silva, Levi Colwill and Benoit Badiashile are already ahead of Chalobah in the Chelsea pecking order and the player wants more regular football as he targets a place in the England squad ahead of Euro 2024 next summer.
Now, West Ham United, who are yet to sign a senior player this summer at the time of writing, are being linked with a move for Chalobah.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea value him at a mind-boggling £45m, which is overpriced even factoring in English tax.
However, West Ham are one of the few clubs who may be able both afford and want to do this deal.
The Hammers have netted a tidy £100m from Declan Rice’s transfer to Arsenal and as they are yet to sign anyone this summer, they may be willing to meet Chelsea’s fairly high asking price.
