Spanish giants Barcelona have clinched a contract agreement with a soon-to-be free agent of the first-team setup at Manchester City, according to reports.
The player all set to take his talents to Catalunya? Ilkay Gundogan.
Speculation surrounding the future of midfielder Gundogan, of course, has been rampant in the media for some time now.
This comes with the German, despite his ongoing importance to the cause at the Etihad, having refused to put pen to paper on fresh terms with Premier League champions Manchester City.
With Gundogan still more than capable of cutting his teeth at the very top level of the game, a number of clubs from across the continent, in turn, are understood to have expressed a keen interest in the former Borussia Dortmund man’s signature.
And, as alluded to above, it would now appear as though one such club has struck gold.
The German is therefore expected to link up with Xavi Hernandez’s La Liga table-toppers come the close of the campaign, to battle it out for a spot in Barca’s talent-packed ranks in the middle of the park.
