Barcelona are exploring a sensational return for Brazilian striker Neymar after it emerged that he was no longer required at Paris Saint Germain.

Xavi’s side are in the early stages of discussing a potential loan move for the Brazilian, with an option to buy the samba star also included in the offer.

That is according to the Independent, who claim that ‘the club are investigating the possibility despite some internal debate’ and that a move could yet materialise.

It comes after Neymar was told that he was no longer in PSG’s plans for the upcoming season, with the Brazilian set to follow former teammate Lionel Messi out of the exit door at the Parc des Princes this summer.

Barcelona are keen on the move given their options on the wing, having just seen Ousmane Dembele head to PSG, likely as Neymar’s replacement.

However, there is one major drawback to their interest in the attacker. Price.

Despite this, Barcelona ‘feel that they can make it work due to his huge commercial profile’ and Neymar himself is keen to return to the Camp Nou, a desire which has seen him so far turn down lucrative offers to head to Saudi Arabia this summer.

Should PSG sanction a loan move in which they covered part of his wages, Barcelona could likely be bought to the table to negotiate after missing out on fellow former star Lionel Messi already this summer.
