The player in question is USA star, Christian Pulisic.
Pulisic linked up with Chelsea in the summer of 2019, after spending the second half of the previous campaign back on loan with Borussia Dortmund.
Since joining the Blues, the American has showcased patches of quality, but has never really had a consistent run in the club’s starting eleven.
Pulisic did enjoy a purple patch at the end of 2019. In 2020/21, however, the attacker failed to piece together a decent run, and only featured in 27 league games, in part due to injury issues. Across these appearances, he scored four and assisted two.
In 2021/22, meanwhile, Pulisic scored eight and assisted five in 38 appearances.
However, in recent weeks, Pulisic has been garnering more game time under Graham Potter and playing well.
Fabrizio Romano stated: “At the moment, there is nothing concrete or advanced, but I’m told Christian Pulisic could leave the club in January if Chelsea bring in a new winger.
“Of course, it depends on clubs making offers and many other factors – as of now it’s a scenario and not a negotiation.”
