The home support in attendance at Barcelona’s meeting with Real Madrid on Sunday were sure to make clear their appreciation for former head coach Pep Guardiola at the Camp Nou.
The Blaugrana, of course, are currently locked in action.
In the headline fixture of the Spanish football calendar, Xavi Hernandez’s troops have welcomed fierce rivals Real Madrid to Catalunya, for the latest edition of the famed El Clasico.
Barca headed into proceedings in the knowledge that a victory would see them place one hand firmly on the La Liga title, eyeing a hefty 12-point advantage over Carlo Ancelotti’s visitors.
As alluded to above, though, ahead of the action kicking into gear on Sunday, it was days of Clasicos gone by which, momentarily, returned to the forefront of the minds of those in attendance at the Camp Nou.
This came as ex-Blaugrana boss and current Manchester City headmaster Pep Guardiola flashed across the big screen at the ground.
In turn, upon learning of Guardiola’s presence at tonight’s clash, the home crowd rose to their feet, to provide a rousing standing ovation.
Guardiola está no Camp Nou e apareceu no telão. Torcida aplaudiu de pé.
