101 covered reports on Tuesday which claimed that Arsenal have tabled a ‘lucrative’ offer to bring Real Valladolid defender Ivan Fresneda to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Now, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Real Valladolid have requested €15m to let Fresneda leave in the next week. The Spanish club are said to be keen on loaning the youngster back for the rest of the season, something Arsenal aren’t said to be willing to do.
However, Arsenal could face some stiff competition for the full-back.
According to German outlet BILD, the 18-year-old was heavily linked with a switch in January, but it didn’t go through as the side now look to prepare for the future. They also claimed that Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund continue to monitor the teenager’s situation
Fresneda is a product of Real Valladolid’s academy and has so far featured 26 times for their senior side.
Should Arsenal snap him up, this would allow Ben White to move back into his more natural role in the middle of defence when needed, stopping the need for Arsenal to look at Rob Holding if William Saliba or Gabriel are sidelined.
