Barcelona are ready to offer Bayern Munich the services of Sergino Dest in part exchange for star forward Robert Lewandowski, according to reports.

The future of Lewandowski has been thrown up in the air in recent weeks, with the forward’s agent claiming that ‘there hasn’t been any contact with FC Bayern yet’ over a new contract, with the Polish star’s deal at the Allianz currently set to expire in 2023.

This has left Lewandowski, now 33 years old, considering his future, and he is thought to be open to the idea of a move this summer. Barcelona are those chiefly credited with an interest in the striker, who has scored 31 goals in 28 Bundesliga outings this season.

And now, they have reportedly opened talks by offering highly-rated defender Dest to the Bavarian side as a sweetener for any deal to bring Lewa to the Camp Nou.

That is according to The Mirror, cited on Sky Sports, who report that ‘Barcelona will offer Sergino Dest to Bayern Munich as part of a bid to sign Robert Lewandowski, who has expressed his desire to join Xavi Hernandez’s revolution at the Camp Nou, according to reports.’

Lewandowski to add more firepower?

There will be confidence that a suitable buyer for Memphis Depay can be found this summer after an underwhelming free transfer last summer, but finding a home for Martin Braithwaite may be more of a challenge, while the wage budget continues to skyrocket as more free agents (most recently Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie) are added to the squad.

It has the feeling of yet more unsustainability at Camp Nou.
