Champions League-bound Lazio is closing in on finding a replacement in the center of the park at Stadio Olimpico as I Biancocelesti has agreed to terms with Japanese international midfielder Daichi Kamada.
Per reports in Sky Italia via Football Italia as well as information relayed by Fabrizio Romano, the capital side has reached a verbal agreement with the former Eintracht Frankfurt star ahead of a likely free transfer to Rome after his deal in Germany’s financial capital ran down after the 2022-23 Bundesliga season.

Though Kamada has yet to officially sign on the dotted line, the terms will lock him into a two-year deal with an optional third which will see him net €4m/year, with added clauses bringing that number closer to €5m.
The 26-year-old, who had been pushing for a move to Serie A for the duration of the summer, was first expected to join AC Milan before talks were shut down in the wake of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara being shockingly jettisoned in Lombardy, while AS Roma were also reportedly exploring a potential deal before being put off by the player’s financial demands.
Should Kamada arrive in the eternal city, it can be assumed that the club will have then found its replacement for former star man Sergej Milinković-Savić, after the Serbian midfielder joined the summer exodus to the Roshn Saudi League and joined Al-Hilal.
Lazio will be getting a gifted central attacking player in the Ehime-born Kamada, whose impressive spell in Frankfurt helped the club secure a Europa League win in 2021-22 while scoring 16 goals in all competitions in 2022-23.
