The winds of change have hit gale-force levels at Elland Road this summer after Leeds United tackled the transfer window under American manager Jesse Marsch and club director of football Victor Orta in stunning fashion.
Leeds has already shelled out over £90m this summer on six new faces, with the Yorkshire outfit looking to get back on track in their goal of establishing themselves as a top-half club at the bare minimum.
Deals for RB Salzburg pair Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen, Bayern Munich’s Marc Roca, RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams, Feyenoord Rotterdam’s Luis Sinisterra, and Man City U23 starlet Darko Gyabi showed incredible intent by Leeds to right the wrongs of the 2021-22 Premier League campaign that saw them finish just one place above the bottom three after a credible ninth-place run the season prior in their return to the English top flight.
But there could be more to come for Marsch’s men after Leeds have been linked with interest in PSV Eindhoven’s German international left-back Philipp Max.

Reports in Dutch outlet Voetbalzone claim that Leeds are set to go head-to-head with unnamed Bundesliga clubs for Max, with the 28-year-old attacking full-back potentially coming into direct contention with Junior Firpo for a first-XI birth should a deal be completed.
Max began life in the Eredivisie brightly after arriving from Bundesliga side FC Augsburg in the summer of 2020 after starring for Fuggerstädter for five seasons where he crafted 29-assists (including 13 league assists in 2017-18) as well as chipping in on the scoresheet on fifteen occasions.
Given the fact that Max may not be viewed as the undisputed first-choice left-back once Júnior recovers from injury, the fact that he has just two years left on his current contract and was purchased for only €7.7m (£6.5m), he would constitute a very affordable and experienced probably upgrade on Firpo who struggled to perform consistently since his arrival from Barcelona last summer.
