According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Atletico Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente, who is on the radar of the two Premier League clubs, and both could look to make their move for him in the coming weeks.
Atletico Madrid are going through financial difficulties right now and selling the versatile midfielder could ease their financial problems, with a fee of around €60 million thought to be enough to get the deal done.
Liverpool are in the middle of rebuilding their midfield after a lacklustre 2022/23 season, with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai already through the door.
However, the Reds are still believed to be targeting a third midfielder this summer and Llorente, who is an excellent box-to-box option with plenty of pace, could fit the bill.
The Spaniard can also provide cover at right-back, which would be very useful for Liverpool, who currently only have Trent Alexander-Arnold to fill in that role.
Manchester United, meanwhile, need to upgrade on the likes of Scott McTominay and Fred.
