German juggernaut Bayern Munich may be on the hunt for another traditional center-forward after reports have surfaced linking the Bavarian outfit with interest in SV Werder Bremen’s Niclas Füllkrug.
As per RND duo Heiko Ostendorp and Patrick Strasser, the Bayern brass have reached out to others in the national team camp under Hansi Flick to have a better understanding of his profile both on and off the pitch, with feedback said to have been positive.

Füllkrug has already proven his worth this winter after he bagged the equalizer for Germany in their recent 1-1 draw against Spain to give the European giants a World Cup lifeline on the final day against Costa Rica, with a win in conjunction with a Japan loss against Luis Enrique’s men giving the four-time World Cup winners passage into the round of sixteen.
There were calls for Füllkrug to start in Flick’s preferred XI in Qatar after RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner was ruled out of contention due to injury before the tournament began, and he could get his first full run out for his country on Thursday given his well-taken effort that highlighted his strengths in the attack.
Coming into the World Cup, the Hanover native is in the midst of a career season as the top-scoring German in the Bundesliga this season with 10 goals in 15 appearances for Die Werderaner, level with French international Marcus Thuram and just two behind injured RBL talisman Christopher Nkunku.
With a reported fee of just €10m said to be enough to prize him away from the banks of the Weser, Bayern would have added depth through the middle of the front four that is currently being led by Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, with young summer signing Mathys Tel the only other true option in the number 9 role.
