The player in question is Bayern Munich and Netherlands midfielder, Ryan Gravenberch.
The 21-year-old Dutchman joined Bayern at the start of the previous season in a deal worth around €25m, but he has found it difficult to hold down a regular starting spot under both Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel.
Gravenberch has made 24 Bundesliga appearances so far for the German outfit, but none of those have lasted 90 minutes. In fact, he notched just 559 minutes of league action across the 2022/23 campaign. And given he still needs to develop as a player, it would be smart for Gravenberch to move clubs this year.
One team who will seemingly not be signing Gravenberch this summer, though, is Liverpool.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Jurgen Klopp wants to sign a third midfield star this summer after seeing that area of the pitch let him down massively last season. And whilst Gravenberch was one star on the Reds’ list to add to their midfield, they no longer have interest in the Bayern Munich man.
It is added that Southampton’s Romeo Lavia is now one of their priority targets.
News #Gravenberch: Liverpool is definitely OUT of the race! But talks between the club and the players management took place.
➡️ Instead, Romeo Lavia one of the priorities for #LFC!
Important to say: Gravenberch is not unsaleable for Bayern! @SkySportDE 🇳🇱 pic.twitter.com/UDOdmevATp
