Tottenham Hotspur’s season was dealt a huge blow back in February when Rodrigo Benatnur suffered a campaign-ending injury.
The midfielder ruptured his ACL and has left a glaring hole in the middle of the pitch for Spurs.
Bentancur had been arguably Tottenham’s best performer this season and since losing him, performances and results have taken a major turn for the worse.
Bentancur’s return date
Rodrigo Bentancur is due back from injury in November, according to the Athletic.
He suffered the injury just after the hour mark in Tottenham’s 4-1 defeat at Leicester City.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Oliver Skipp and Pape Matar Sarr have all struggled to fill the void.
The Malian fractured his ankle around the same time and his season also looks to be over.
Tottenham may well need to dip into the transfer market in the summer to sign another midfielder with Bentancur set to miss the first few months of next season.
