The Dane joined Barca in February of 2020 on an emergency transfer. He had a mixed stint with La Blaugrana, which saw him score 10 goals and assist five in 50 games.
However, now Barca have been able to bring in the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, Braithwaite’s services were no longer required and he was able to leave for Espanyol on a free transfer in September. He scored on his debut for his new club.
After leaving Barcelona, Braithwaite has been discussing who the best Barcelona player he played with was.
That title obviously went to Lionel Messi, who spent his final few months at Barcelona with Braithwaite before moving to PSG.
After Messi, though, the former Middlesbrough striker has named Ousmane Dembele as the best player he played with:
“Dembele is very good. I like him a lot. He has a huge talent. I have never seen someone with his talent. I’m serious,” he told Tot Costa.
He added: “Dembele individual talent has more impact than that of a player like Lewandowski, individually speaking. Ousmane is incredible. A good player and a good person. Lewandowski scores a lot of goals, I am happy for him, he is a great professional.”
Dembele has had a tough time in Spain with injury and fitness issues, but he has found his feet over the last six months and has already scored one and assisted two in four this term.
