First up, Jurgen Klopp has claimed that signing Cody Gakpo will have ‘no impact’ on his plans moving forwards for Roberto Firmino, who he ‘definitely’ wants to keep at the club.
Firmino’s contract at Anfield expires at the end of the season, but Klopp has confirmed talks have taken place over an extension:
“I want Roberto Firmino to stay at Liverpool and sign new deal with us,” Klopp said.
Next, Liverpool have been linked with Argentinian midfielder, Enzo Fernandez, for a while now. However Klopp suggested in a statement that the Reds need to sell before being able to spend big:
“We’ve to collect money for a bit, then we can spend. That is how we work,” he said.
Elsewhere, after beating Manchester United to Cody Gakpo, Liverpool are now planning to repeat the same trick and flabbergast another rival in Arsenal by swooping in top target Mykhaylo Mudryk under their noses.
