Liverpool have set their sights on the signature of a member of the midfield setup at Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to reports.

The subject of engine room reinforcements, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines at Anfield over the course of the summer to date.

This comes as Jurgen Klopp and co. continue in efforts to completely overhaul the club’s options in the middle of the park.

To this point, the Reds have brought in both Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, with all of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, and Fabio Carvalho having been moved on in one form or another.

The transfer team on the red half of Merseyside, though, evidently, remain far from content with their work.

Over the course of the last week, Liverpool have missed out on not one, but two chief midfield targets, with both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia having opted to take their talents to Chelsea.

And potentially set to follow all of Mac Allister, Szoboszlai and Endo in putting pen to paper on terms with Liverpool, it would appear, is Wolves star Mario Lemina.

As per a report from French outlet Foot Mercato, the Reds are ‘in the picture’ to land former Juventus man Lemina over the coming weeks.

A whole host of Premier League clubs are said to be keen on the 29-year-old, but it is Liverpool who have positioned themselves at the front of the queue, with Lemina, for his part, expected to jump at the chance to take his talents to Anfield.
