Word stemming from the Italian media late on Friday points towards a potentially major development surrounding the future of wantaway Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.
As we make our way into the final week of the summer transfer window, the future of Portuguese icon Ronaldo, of course, remains unresolved.
The 37-year-old is long known to have made his intention to seal an Old Trafford exit clear to those in a position of power at the club, but, owing to both a lack of offers and the stance of Erik ten Hag and co, to this point, a transfer is yet to materialise.
Should Ronaldo ultimately prove successful in his efforts to land at a Champions League-playing club, though, then his current employers will require a replacement.
And, if reports doing the rounds in Italy late on Friday are anything to go by, then it appears as though the Red Devils have been afforded the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.
This comes amid the suggestion that SSC Napoli have offered up a swap deal to the powers that be at Old Trafford.
In return, Man United would be handed the chance to land Victor Osimhen, albeit for a sum in the region of €100 million.
