According to Football Transfers, Pep Guardiola’s side are keen on bringing in Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney, though it’s not yet clear if he’ll be available, or what kind of price he could command.
Manchester City have been without a left-back for much of 2022/23. Joao Cancelo was loaned to Bayern Munich in January, whilst Oleksandr Zinchenko was sold to Arsenal last summer.
This has led to Nathan Ake, a centre-back by trade, becoming the Sky Blues’ first-choice option on the left of their backline.
And whilst Ake has been in great form of late, it is clear that Manchester City still need some more depth in this area.
As for Kieran Tierney, he was a mainstay in the Gunners’ backline for several years. However, the arrival of the aforementioned Zinchenko on top of some injury issues has led to the Scotsman’s game time being slashed.
He did start at the weekend with Zinchenko sidelined, but it is clear Tierney has fallen down the pecking order in north London.
