Manchester United are ‘already negotiating’ a transfer for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves, according to reports in Spain.
SPORT claim that United have received a boost when it comes to the landing of the Portugal international, with Barcelona withdrawing from the race. The report adds that Neves is ‘already negotiating what could be his transfer to United starting next summer’.
Neves has made a total of 245 appearances for Wolves since joining back in 2017 from FC Porto. In said games, he has scored 29 and assisted 12.
But as he enters the final year of his contract, clubs are looking at the possibility of snapping Neves up when the Premier League season ends in a cut-price deal.
No fee is mentioned in the report from SPORT, but it is expected Wolves will not be able to demand too much for the midfielder in negotiations with Manchester United or any other potential suitor.
Neves would make an excellent addition to the United set-up and would likely move about Fred and Scott McTominay in the pecking order should he indeed sign for Erik ten Hag’s side.
