It was reported last month that Manchester United were conducting medical tests on Altay Bayindir as they consider a move to sign the Fenerbahce goalkeeper.
It was added Man United had been pursuing Bayindir for some time but wanted to gain clarity around the condition of a back problem before deciding whether to recruit the 25-year-old Turkey international.
Given United have been without Rasmus Hojlund for the start of the new season due to a back issue he had before he arrived at the club, it is easy to see why the Red Devils may be cautious about their next signing.
Now, on deadline day, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Altay Bayindir has signed as a new Manchester United goalkeeper and will be the new backup option to replace Dean Henderson
In terms of a transfer fee, Fenerbahce will receive a fee in the region of €6/7m.
This will be Man United’s second goalkeeper signing of the summer after Andrea Onana, who joined from Serie A outfit, Inter Milan to replace David de Gea.
