According to The Athletic, Manchester United are conducting medical tests on Altay Bayindir as they consider a move to sign the Fenerbahce goalkeeper.
It is added Man United have been pursuing Bayindir for some time but want to gain clarity around the condition of a back problem before deciding whether to recruit the 25-year-old Turkey international.
Given United have been without Rasmus Hojlund for the start of the new season due to a back issue he had before he arrived at the club, it is easy to see why the Red Devils may be cautious about their next signing.
In terms of a transfer fee, it is claimed a €5m move for Fenerbahce may be on the cards for Bayindir.
This will be Man United’s second goalkeeper signing of the summer if the deal goes through after Andrea Onana, who joined from Serie A outfit, Inter Milan to replace David de Gea.
It is expected Bayindir would be United’s second choice goalkeeper behind Onana.
