Wolves have been in pretty awful form so far this season, with their last outing seeing them lose 2-0 vs fellow strugglers, West Ham.
They spent more than £100m over the summer, with Sasa Kalajdzic, Matheus Nunes, Goncalo Guedes and Nathan Collins all arriving for a fee. Diego Costa and Boubacar Traore joined as a free agent and on loan respectively.
Despite all those signings, though, Wolves have struggled for results this season. They have scored just three goals in eight, whilst also conceding nine goals.
This left Lage and co, in the relegation zone with just six points to their name.
And now, The Athletic have confirmed that Lage has been sacked by Wolves:
🚨 Bruno Lage sacked as Wolves head coach. Expectation was it would happen early next week but with fan sentiment clear & decision made, 46yo informed this afternoon he’ll be going. Potential successors have been studied for some time @TheAthleticUK #WWFC https://t.co/FK9W5DdVWE
