Saka is having an excellent 2022/23 campaign with Arsenal.
The Gunners are top of the Premier League by five points and look set to win their first league title in nearly 20 years.
Saka, meanwhile, has scored 10 and assisted nine in 27 league games so far this season.
And now, when speaking to the Evening Standard, Saka has revealed which Gunners star he looked up to as a kid.
When discussing the number of fouls he has to deal with each game, Saka said:
βArsenal have had the meetings they need to have with the referees and stuff like that. I feel like we just need to take it from there and see where that gets us. The way I play, Iβm always going to attract contact.
Saka also revealed how Mikel Arteta is helping lessen the number of tackles on him:
βHeβs talking about the type of balls I receive,β Saka said. βAs a winger, if you receive the ball on the touchline with your back to the defender, even if Iβm the defender, Iβd do the same: come in straight and fast, close you down. So, of course, thereβs going to be a lot of pressure and a lot of contact.
βI think heβs talking about those type of balls, the type of balls where I donβt have much space to manoeuvre and the defender can close me down quickly and be really aggressive.β
