Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has taken to social media on Sunday evening, to send a heartfelt message to the club’s supporters.

Saka, of course, has taken his place front and centre in the English media headlines across the day to date.

Unfortunately for the gifted wide-man, however, this has come for all the wrong reasons.

Mikel Arteta’s troops, of course, marked their return to action a short time ago, making the short trip across London to face West Ham United.

Arsenal headed into proceedings aware that nothing but a victory would suffice, after Manchester City cut the gap atop the Premier League table once more on Saturday evening.

When all was said and done at the London Stadium, however, the visiting Gunners were forced to make do with a share of the spoils.

After being afforded the chance to put Arsenal back two goals to the good from the penalty spot early in the 2nd-half, the England international fluffed his lines, sending his effort from 12 yards some way clear of Lukasz Fabianski’s left-hand post:

This, in turn, set the stage for Jarrod Bowen to grab what proved to be a decisive equaliser, just minutes later.

And Saka’s costly error, evidently, has hit home in a major way for the beloved Gunners starlet.

Taking to his official Instagram account post-match on Sunday, Saka sent a heartfelt apology message to the Arsenal faithful, as follows:

‘Regardless of the outcome, I’ll always accept my responsibility. Apologies Gunners, I’ll do everything I can to make it right.’
