Bundesliga boss Niko Kovac has rejected an approach from Tottenham Hotspur according to reports, with the Lilywhites still on the hunt for a new boss.

Spurs are on the hunt for their third permanent manager in two years after they parted ways with Antonio Conte on Sunday evening, leaving his assistant coach Christian Stellini and former Spurs midfielder Ryan Mason in caretaker charge until the end of the season.

And plenty of names have been linked with the vacancy in north London, with Julien Nagelsmann reportedly a target after being fired by Bayern Munich last week and replaced by fellow Tottenham target Thomas Tuchel.

Luis Enrique has seemingly already ruled himself out of the role, admitting he doesn’t see him in the Premier League this summer, and now it appears as though Wolfsburg boss Kovac has also turned down the opportunity to move to north London.

As per Sky Sports, ‘The Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung reported on Tuesday that contact was made from England. However, Kovac is not interested in moving to the island.’

Kovac only arrived at Wolfsburg last summer, and is under contract until 2025, making him an unlikely candidate given the finances needed to prise him away from Germany even were Kovac keen on the switch.

Tottenham look to divert attentions back onto the pitch this weekend as they travel to Goodison Park on Monday night to take on relegation-threatened Everton.
