The player in question is Moussa Diaby of Bayer Leverkusen.
Arsenal have been linked with the 23-year-old for some time and it is easy to see why. The Frenchman is lightning quick and chipped in with 25 goal contributions for the German outfit across the 2022/23 season.
However, the Gunners are seemingly facing competition for Diaby from one of their oldest rivals.
The Daily Mail report that Manchester United are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby.
The report adds that the left-wing spot is not considered a priority for Manchester United’s transfer plans, but with concerns over Jadon Sancho’s form and other options relatively inexperienced, they have considered an upgrade.
Bayer Leverkusen want around £65m for the 23-year-old, who has been linked with Newcastle as well.
Two centre-forwards are probably needed at Old Trafford, with one of them capable of scoring 20 or more league goals a season.
Elsewhere, they could do with a new central midfielder, a new goalkeeper and cover at centre-back for Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.
