Manchester United had something of a mass clear-out this summer, which saw the likes of Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani leave the club following the expiration of their contracts.

This has left the Red Devils with very limited options up front. Anthony Martial has come back from his loan with Sevilla and, luckily for United, has found a new lease of life under Erik ten Hag.

However, with Cristiano Ronaldo still eager to leave Old Trafford this summer in search of Champions League football, Martial is United’s only natural striker.

Elsewhere, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho are the club’s only senior wide options at present.

Granted, Anthony Elanga, Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri can provide cover in these spots. But if Man United want to compete with the best teams in four competitions, they need better depth.

One man who would have improved Manchester United’s attack was Ajax winger, Antony.

It is added that United are interested in Benjamin Sesko, but RB Salzburg are reluctant to sell and their valuation is very high:

Said valuation is reported elsewhere as being €50m, which is a fair bit for a striker that only really has one full year of experience at a senior level.
