Manchester United have made contact with Inter Milan’s Andre Onana over a move to Old Trafford, but the Serie A side’s asking price is a problem as they try to stay within their summer transfer budget.
The Times report that the Red Devils have made contact with Onana over a move, with Inter Milan setting the asking price for the Cameroon goalkeeper at around £52m
United only have around £100m to spend on players this summer, which makes that asking price pretty steep, considering the Red Devils also need at least one quality striker and a midfielder through the door.
However, that £100m budget can be boosted by the sales of players, with the likes of Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial.
Should Onana not end up joining Manchester United, they will be stuck with David de Gea for another season.
The Spaniard is a solid shot-stopper but his ability to play out from the back under pressure is poor – a trait which has hampered the way Erik ten Hag’s side are able to play.
