David de Gea left Manchester United at the beginning of the month after his contract expired.

This has left Man United without a recognised no.1, but Inter Milan shot-stopper Andrea Onana is expected to come in and replace the Spaniard.

A deal for the Cameroon international is edging closer to completion but United are seemingly looking to add a second goalkeeper to their ranks this summer.

Speaking about the Onana deal, Fabrizio Romano claimed Manchester United have made contact with Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki:

“Man United are still working with Inter on the final details for the Andre Onana transfer which relates to the structure of the add-ons. Once agreed, the deal will be completed. Onana will be Man United’s number one but the club are looking to sign a second goalkeeper this summer,” Romano said.

“I told you a few days ago that Man United are speaking to Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds about their highly-rated goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. I can tell you guys that contact has now been made between Man United and the player’s side. The club have told the player’s representatives that they are interested in signing the player.

Should Man United indeed sign a second keeper on top of Onana, it is fair to assume Dean Henderson will be sold this summer.
