In one of the more surprising transfers of the summer window, Casemiro has left Champions League holders Real Madrid for Manchester United.

The Brazilian is set to earn around £375,000-a-week at United and has the option of an extra year on his contract, which would keep him at Old Trafford until 2026.

All told, this would see Manchester United, including the £70m transfer fee, pay around £140m in total to the former Real Madrid man.

Casemiro is yet to make a Premier League start for Manchester United, but he was in from the off last Thursday as United lost 1-0 at the hands of Real Sociedad. The Brazilian looked nowhere close to his best and had a hard time dealing with Sociedad’s attackers.

Now, ahead of Manchester United facing Sheriff in a Europa League game on Thursday, the South American has been discussing his time in Manchester so far.

When we asked how he is finding life in England, Casemiro replied: “It’s great, really good, a really friendly club where I feel comfortable.

“The coaching team always explaining things clearly to me, I’m doing really well and am very happy.”

“On the city, people tell me a lot about it, like where the best restaurants are. I’m someone who likes to stay at home and relax with my family, I’m doing really well and am very happy to be here.”
